About Me - Thomas Nuttall
Language Assistant in Spain
Hey! I'm Thomas (or just Tom) and I'm a Language and Cultural Assistant (or auxiliar) in Madrid.
I'm from Sydney, Australia and I've been an auxiliar since January 2016.
I started the program in a small town in Murcia working at primary schools then began working in high schools since moving to Madrid in September 2017.
I have taught English to all types of students from 3 year olds in infantil to adult students in private classes or night classes at my current school in Madrid.

I studied a variety of subjects at the University of Wollongong including Spanish, Psychology, History and Politics. The 'Auxiliares de Conversación' program was mentioned to me in my final year of study and shortly after graduating, I made my way to Puerto de Mazarrón in Murcia to begin working in the program at a local bilingual primary school. For the 2016-2017 school year, I reapplied for the program and was placed nearby in the Puerto to another bilingual primary school. I taught science classes in both schools.
The following year, I reapplied to work in Madrid and was placed in a non-bilingual high school in the suburb of Carabanchel. I reapplied for the same school for the 2018-19 school year and currently work there.
